Brief Bio
I am intensively trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and have a comprehensive DBT practice in Santa Barbara known as Central Coast DBT. I offer DBT programs for both adults and adolescents. My traditional DBT programs are comprised of individual therapy, family therapy as needed, DBT skills training groups (caregivers included in adolescent group), between-session phone coaching, case management and my participation in a peer consultation group.

Given the established effectiveness of DBT with high risk clients, I specialize in providing treatment for people with a history of life threatening behaviors such as suicide attempts/ideation/gestures, self-harm, and/or explosive anger and aggression, as well as for those who have not found other treatments to be effective in curbing the need for frequent crisis intervention. Central Coast DBT provides an option for those who need more intensive treatment than traditionally provided in outpatient therapy but who aren't in need of the higher intensity services provided in PHP/IOP or residential treatment.

The main target of DBT is chronic emotion dysregulation (ineffective emotional control) which usually is a main contributor to the following conditions and behaviors that I commonly treat:
•. Personality Disorders, particularly Borderline Personality Disorder
• Mood Disorders (Major Depression, Bipolar Disorder, Disruptive Mood Dysregulation
Disorder)
• Severe Anxiety with Avoidant Behavior
• Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
• Other Impulsive Behavior and Secondary Conditions (e.g. mild Substance Abuse,
Lying, Stealing, Running Away)
Highest Degree Earned
PsyD
