Brief Bio
My colleague, Dr. Jen Bailey, and I are intensively trained in comprehensive Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and have an established DBT practice in Ventura known as Central Coast DBT. We recently opened a Santa Barbara branch of Central Coast DBT offering DBT programs for both adults and adolescents. We provide traditional comprehensive DBT programs comprised of individual therapy, DBT skills training groups (caregivers included in adolescent group), between-session phone coaching and consultation group.

Given the estabilished effectiveness of DBT in treating high acuity clients, we specialize in treating life threatening behaviors such as suicide attempts/ideation/gestures, self-harm, explosive aggression and those clients with a history of failed treatment/frequent hospitalizations. Additionally, we treat the following conditions and behaviors that are also offen associated with poor emotional control:
• Mood Disorders (Major Depression, Bipolar Disorder, Disruptive Mood
Dysregulation Disorder)
• Personality Disorders, particularly Borderline Personality Disorder
• Severe Anxiety with Avoidant Behavior
• Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
• Other Impulsive Behavior and Secondary Conditions (e.g. mild Substance Abuse,
Lying, Stealing, Running Away)

Dr. Bailey and I also have training in Affirmative Therapy and extensive experience working with members of the LGTBQ community.
