Brief Bio
Dr. Fredericks is a licensed Counseling Psychologist with many years of experience working in the university setting as a professor, administrator, and psychologist. She received her doctorate in Counseling Psychology from the University of Southern California and has worked in agency and university settings serving families, couples, and individuals. She has also supervised and mentored young professionals in psychology and has led multiple psychotherapy groups (e.g., women’s groups, dissertation support groups, interpersonal groups). Clients’ concerns are approached within a multidimensional perspective. Issues can center around the loss of a loved one, the ending of a relationship, navigating the challenges of divorce or remarriage or steering one’s way through the difficulties of various life transitions such as: work and parenting, retirement, and recovery from illness, among others. Dr. Fredericks is an active member of local and regional professional associations and has presented at regional and national conferences. She is actively involved in social justice issues.
