Brief Bio
As a Health Psychologist, I provide compassionate psychotherapy to adults living with new or chronic health concerns. Whether your diagnosis is new, or you have been living with a chronic condition for some time, the physical and emotional aspects of health problems can be overwhelming.
My practice has been focused on providing psychological support to adults and families coping with the effects of illness, recovering from traumatic injuries, and making meaning after profound changes in health or physical ability.
Whether you'd like to make changes to improve a chronic condition like MS, IBS or diabetes, are struggling to adapt to a 'new normal' after a life-changing health event like a stroke or spinal cord injury or cancer diagnosis, or feel like symptoms are making the rest of your life take a back seat, you deserve support.
Health Psychology is the practice of learning to maintain emotional resilience, reduce the impact of symptoms, and feel more in charge of your health, regardless of your diagnosis.
Our work together can help you:
-Live a vibrant life consistent with your identity, values and goals, regardless of your health status.
-Maintain your resilience in the face of uncertainty, change, and challenge.
-Cope with uncomfortable symptoms and reduce their impact on your mood and activities.
-Optimize your health and prevent future negative health outcomes.
-Reduce the impact of stress, anxiety, and depressed mood on your health.
-Feel confident that you can advocate for your health and feel aligned with your medical team.
My hope is that you will find our collaboration gives you confidence in navigating whatever physical challenges you may face, and trust in your ability to be resilient— to bend without breaking— when future challenges arise.
